A Small Collection of Eyvind Earle Christmas Cards

Eyvind Earle Christmas Cards.

I found most of these on Pinterest via eBay.  If you are curious about prices, all I can say is they vary wildly depending on the card. Original Eyvind Earle cards are difficult to come by these days.  Eyvind designed over 800 cards during his lifetime and he created some truly unique designs.

His work on holiday cards took off in 1947 and he only got more popular after starting his work at Disney Studios.

Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter At Christmas Time

Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter At Christmas Time

I know this may seem a little unusual to post about Christmas at Disney in the middle of summer but the truth is that THIS is planning season.  If you are looking to celebrate the holidays at Disney, odds are you are working on that now.  Hopefully this post offers a little insight to someone, somewhere.

These photos are from the trip I took to Walt Disney World at the end of November 2015.  I was only at Port Orleans French Quarter for one night before I moved to a 1 bedroom deluxe villa at Old Key West.  All the DVC resorts were booked the first night I wanted to stay and with a flight already scheduled, I had to make a decision.  I almost went with Coronado Springs but decided to go with Port Orleans simply because I'm familiar with the property and I didn't have any extra time to get acquainted with a new resort.  Coronado Springs is the only Disney resort at WDW that I haven't been to yet.  It's strange because I've never even been on property at Coronado.  I also have yet to stay at any of the All-Star Resorts but I have visited all three hotels.  I was a little bummed at first about missing the Coronado train again but, I fell in love fast with Port Orleans French Quarter and before I could even check in at the front desk, I knew I had ended up at the right place.  The resort is MAGICAL at Christmastime.  That's the only way to describe it.  Believe it or not, French Quarter had a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.  I regret not getting more photos especially of my room, but I was tired after a long day between airports and all I did was snap a few photos on my cell while on my way to the room.  I think they are still worth posting though because there are not as many photos out online of the Moderate Resorts during the holiday season.  If I had snapped a few photos in the lobby of The Grand Floridian, I probably wouldn't post them because those photos are everywhere.  I wish it were a full resort overview of French Quarter at Christmastime and it will be something to aim for in the future.  In the meantime, I hope you will enjoy the photos I was able to get that first night.

I arrived on Thanksgiving Day (even though technically it was nighttime)
